As discussed in yesterday’s Chief Economist Update, the FOMC voted unanimously to raise their policy by 25 bps as we anticipated. NISA Chief Economist Stephen Douglass was quoted in a MarketWatch article with his thoughts on what’s to come.
Stephen was quoted as saying, “They are clearly signaling an intention to deliver two or three hikes.”
The article also stated that Fed Chair Kevin Warsh maintained his position that the central bank was serious about pursuing their 2% inflation target. Investors are now questioning what a longer Fed hiking cycle could mean for markets.
