Mohan leads the team responsible for signal research and generation, signal selection and weighting, and portfolio construction for the quantitative equity portfolios.
He returned to NISA in 2025 after departing in 2008 to join the Teacher Retirement System of Texas, where he led the successful development and launch of its Multi-Asset Strategies Group. In addition, Mohan served as a member of the investment, management and asset allocation committees. During his previous 10-year tenure at NISA, he was jointly responsible for the daily management of the fixed income trading desk.
Mohan holds a Bachelor of Technology in engineering physics from the Indian Institute of Technology, and an Sc.M. and a Ph.D. in physics from Brown University.
