Scott W. Smith, CFA
Chief Data Architect
Scott oversees the design, architecture, development, and strategic planning for NISA’s Enterprise Data Systems. This includes responsibilities related to data warehousing, analytics, management, and governance. He also co-chairs NISA’s Data Cabinet and Enterprise Architecture Committee and is a member of the Data Council.
Prior to NISA, Scott worked for a systems integrator, at which he helped clients such as the U.S. Department of the Treasury migrate enterprise workloads to the cloud. Earlier in his career, he was a Senior Vice President in the Research Department at Smith Breeden Associates, a mortgage-focused asset management firm. Scott graduated from Duke University in 2002. There, he earned a quintuple major in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, physics, and economics and graduated summa cum laude. He also earned an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and was named a Fuqua Scholar.
