Mark N. Fortier, CFA
Mark is a strategic advisor to NISA’s defined contribution solutions business. He is responsible for advancing thought leadership and retirement research as well as developing new and innovative products that address the needs of plan sponsors and participants. In addition, he focuses on establishing strategic partnerships and integrated solutions with recordkeepers, insurance companies, investment managers and consultants.
Prior to joining NISA in 2015, Mark was a managing director and the head of Global DC Research and Product for State Street Global Advisors and the head of DC Product and Partner Strategy at AllianceBernstein. He also served as Chief Technology Officer for Transamerica Retirement Solutions. Mark served on Employee Benefit Research Institute (EBRI) Board of Trustees from 2013 to 2014 and currently serves as executive board member and co-chair of the retirement income committee of the Defined Contribution Institutional Investment Association (DCIIA). Mark holds a BA from Columbia University and an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
